The elastic pad that supports the upper structure of a building is composed of laminated reinforced steel plates and rubber sheets, and is the most commonly used support device that accepts vertical loads and shear deformation through the elastic resistance of rubber.
For construction, it is used for supporting the foundation of buildings or for connecting passages between buildings, and for supporting points of footpaths.
